Moments may not come when you want them but, when they arrive, they’re right on time! I’ve always dreamt of meeting my favorite boy band, B2K (Boys of the New Millenium), and I finally got the chance of a lifetime!
I was working on a taping on the daytime talk show, The Real, when I was told that the special guest of the day was B2K to promote their long overdue, upcoming tour called The Millenium Tour. This is their FIRST television appearance, together, in 15 years!
*Squeals having a fangirl moment*
Luvs, when I tell you I was speechless! Literally, I couldn’t talk most of the time *LOL*. Like most girls, I’ve always wanted to experience a B2K concert AND do a meet and greet. What I experienced was so much better! My favorite band member back in the day was Lil Fizz and his gorgeous ponytail. Of course, modern-day Fizz has cut his ponytail and opted for his buzz fade with the curls on top which is cute too! I even had the Word Up! magazine subscription which was my favorite thing ever! I still have a few magazines stored away because I was very hopeful this day would come. I never got the chance to attend a concert as a teen because they fell off the face of the earth after the single ‘Girlfriend’
Of course, I know that’s not exactly what happened but as a teen, I wasn’t too into the celebrity gossip or even knew if what I was hearing was true. In 2004, the group went their separate ways citing different reasons for the split, the more controversial reason being sex abuse by a previous manager according to band member Raz-B (Other members have denied allegations). Following the split, the members went on to curate solo projects.
B2K announced their reunion tour late 2018, and ticket sells crashed the site within the first 14 mins of releasing meaning, I didn’t get a ticket… yet!
On The Real, I watched backstage as the group chats with the hosts about what they were looking forward to and if we could expect any new music from the group soon. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed!
Once their interview wrapped I met them backstage and they were the kindest gentlemen ever! Raz-B even complimented me on my dimples! *LOL* I got to take my pic along with the rest of the crew and share a few intimate moments with Omarion shortly after. My sister and I complimented him on his earring, a ‘shabadoo’, which he lighted up about when sharing that he created the eclectic piece of jewelry similarly seen in the movie Breakin’ 2. This eye catching piece of jewelry has be famously seen on icons such as PRINCE, Gregory Hines and on Janet Jackson! If you don’t know about it, I suggest you binge-watch the movie, the concept screams Omarion’s unique style. Omarion was particularly warm and friendly and exuded positive energy which was what the group insisted this new tour would be about.
This is by far a top 2019 moment! I notice myself smiling every time I think about it or look at the pics. I have to pinch myself sometimes that God allows me to experience things that I’ve prayed for and when I realize I’ve prayed for such moments and experiences I become overjoyed. I credit my big sisters a lot because without them putting me up on game and my big sister Kita providing me the yearly subscription of Word Up!
Back in the day, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to be at The Real years later working alongside her or have the coolest moments of my life meeting my favorite boy band! I literally have the coolest sisters in the world!
Tickets for the Millennium Tour 2019 begin March 8-April 28! Will I be able to attend the latest tour??? I’ll keep you posted 😉

OMG I AM LITERALLY SCREAMING FOR YOU! I remember when they first came out and I was so at awe with them. Unfortunately, I didn’t get tickets for their show either since the site crashed, but I am so glad you got the chance to meet them, how very exciting! It also helps that they’re all so handsome!

Hey Shey! Thank you so much! These are some Word Up! Magazines I had stashed at my mom’s house. I had to get rid of a lot and kept my favorites. I figured they’d be worth something one day.
