While staying at home these past few months in light of the COVID-19 pandemic my style has, as expected, changed a lot and that’s where SKIMS comes into play.
I’ve been spending a lot of my days in more comfortable clothes, but I quickly grew tired of baggy tees and leggings as my work attire. And I know, I could’ve just dressed in my work clothes but who in reality wants to do, that? Not me *LOL*
More importantly, bras have been heavy on my mind and not to mention I’ve gone up a size during quarantine. I’ve been on the hunt for comfortable loungewear bras and clothing and I’ve tried a few brands. Since I’m a fan of Kim Kardashian this was a fun experience for me.
A few things about SKIMS:
Any new SKIMS collection is likely to sell out fast, but I’ve found that signing up for the waitlist is the key to getting your hands on the items you want. So far, I have purchased and reviewed items from multiple collections, including the Cotton Collection, Summer Mesh, Essential Bodysuits, Smooth Essentials, and Summer Sleep .
*Note this review will be updated with pieces from different collections including Fall.*
I found some of the items from SKIMS to be a hit, but others, in my opinion, weren’t worth the hype or money.
Inclusive Sizing
All styles are available in sizes ranging from XXS to 4X, up to 5X in Shapewear and 28 bra cup sizes. This is unheard of in shapewear as many brands only range in size from XS-XL and even the most “notable” brand, Spanx, only goes up to 3X.
The plunge bra, in particular, has been my holy grail. The piece is sexy enough that I have a boost of confidence but still feels super soft and velvety so I feel like I’m wearing PJs. If you’re busty like me, I’d recommend sizing up. I’m wearing a 2X but after a lot of movement, I’ve had a nip-slip or two — though that doesn’t mean it’s any less supportive!
Not only is the plunge bra cute to wear at home but it can also be styled for comfortable wear outside of the house.
Pricing
SKIMS is also mid-high end as far as cost. I don’t mind investing in comfort or luxury, so the price wasn’t an issue for me. SKIMS offer a variety of different ways to pay for the clothing. My favorite way to pay is Afterpay just because I may not always feel like paying $100 up front even if I do have it.
My Overall Thoughts
Cons:
I will say that although Kim is promoting this brand to be inclusive, I feel she could’ve added a 1X because the sizing runs small. I had to go up a size in everything.
Pros:
EVERYTHING is soft and comfortable! I love the neutral colors the different collections offer and the different styles. The bras were exactly what I was looking for.

Okaaay! I’m happy to see a sister who has tried Skims, as I wasn’t too sure of where Kim was going with the brand. The ribbed tank + briefs do look comfortable. I also wasn’t expecting the sizes to go as far in range as they do, so I’m impressed! (You look good btw)

Skims came up in my research for bras, and I didn’t see too many reviews of the brand. It’s good to know to size up in Skims. Your YouTube video and photos gave me an idea of how the bras, loungewear, and shapewear might fit as well as the comfort of the items. So glad I came across your review!

you look so good! I’ve had my eye on skims for a while but I can’t justify the cost! It looks so comfy though and the styles are so cute! Great review.
